A glimpse into the daily life of our Recruitment Team

A glimpse into the daily life of our Recruitment Team

Have you ever been curious about what a typical day in the life of an IT recruiter at Brainbridge looks like?

The life of an IT recruiter is a busy one, filled with a variety of tasks and responsibilities. A typical day in the life of an IT recruiter involves a lot of interacting with candidates, suppliers, and colleagues.

Let’s have a look!

Morning rituals (8:00 - 9:00 AM)
Our dedicated Recruitment Team kicks off the day by arriving at the office between 8:00 and 9:00 AM. They start with a cup of coffee or tea and a lively chat with their colleagues. It's a vibrant, spontaneous team that's always ready to support one another, and an occasional joke is part for the course. The day typically starts with checking emails, applications and new job requests.

Daily stand-up meeting (9:15 - 9:30 AM)
At 9:15 AM, our Recruitment Team gathers for their daily stand-up meeting, led by the Recruitment & Technology Lead. During this meeting, they run through the open job requests, set priorities, highlight available candidates and share experiences.

Candidate search (9:30 AM - 1:00 PM)
Following the stand-up meeting, our recruiters continue with the essential task of sourcing candidates for their assigned jobs. They dive into online platforms, job boards, and social networks in search of the ideal candidates. They evaluate resumes/profiles, reach out to suppliers, conduct phone interviews and negotiate daily rates. Additionally, they maintain relationships with their network of consultants which leads to the establishment of a strong network, granting them access to a wide and varied highly skilled IT talent pool.

Their assessment covers not only qualifications and skills but also the candidate's personality and motivation.

Around 11 AM, the main question of the day rises: "What shall we order for lunch?" After a brief discussion via MS Teams, we place our order with Uber Eats and eagerly await our courier's arrival.

It's safe to say that the Hawaiian poke bowl is our all-time favorite Brainbridge lunch!

Lunch break (1:00 - 1:30 PM)
It's time for a well-deserved lunch break! We gather as a team, enjoying our meal with the splendid view of Antwerp. Lunchtime provides an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and discuss topics unrelated to work.

Afternoon pursuits (1:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
After lunch, the team has the energy to resume their search for the perfect candidate.

Important to mention is that our Recruitment Team collaborates closely with our Sales Team to understand customer needs and requirements for each open position. On a regular base the recruiters ask for feedback on the proposed candidates. This is necessary to prevent suitable candidates from dropping out because they had to wait too long for a response.

Paying attention to administrative tasks, such as maintaining up-to-date candidate profiles in the ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is crucial for recruiters. Keeping data up-to-date is key in the life of an IT recruiter!

In the late afternoon, our Recruitment Team has another stand-up meeting to check how the search for candidates is progressing.

Recruiters continue reaching out to various freelancers inquiring about their availability and interest in new assignments.

Once the recruiters receive the green light to propose a candidate, they promptly insert the CV into a Brainbridge CV template and forward it to our Sales Team, who subsequently dispatch the CV to the customer.

Between 5 PM and 6 PM, it's time to wrap up and head home, aiming to avoid the evening rush-hour traffic. There's always one recruiter who works the late shift until 7 PM.

As you can see, the work of an IT recruiter is demanding and calls for a high degree of adaptability.
Every day brings new challenges and priorities can shift rapidly, making each day unique and challenging!
