Global Energy Management and Sales is the fully integrated trading arm of our client, one of the world’s largest utilities. The teams manage a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, LNG, biomass and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products, and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants.
We are looking for a business analyst whose primary focus is to support our LNG a business from deal booking to accounting topics – primarily with vendor-based Allegro ETRM system (C#, Sql) plus other LOB applications. The candidate should have a strong will to discover the business and liaise with stakeholders on a daily basis. In this role, you will be part of a small IT team (of developer & business analyst) and working directly with business users (traders, product controls, etc.) to assist them with their day-to-day system support & 
operations; and to understand, gather and translate their business needs into IT solutions.

Main activities

The main activities of this developer role are:

• Administrating & support users from our LNG trading platform on vendor-based Allegro ETRM system with integration to other LOB applications (e.g. Veson IMOS, SAP B1)
• Empower business users to carry out their day-to-day operations effectively (e.g. on deal bookings, shipment scheduling, PnL calculation & reporting, back-office controls and quality checks, invoicing & interfacing with accounting systems)
• Challenging the current Allegro customizations with C#optimisations
• Understand new business needs and develop new functionalities based on complex business requirements
• Coordinate UAT & production deployment of new system functionalities
• Create custom reports & dashboards using Power BI & Excel technologies
• Write and update technical documentations in English and make them available to the team
• Provide training to business users & other team members

Qualification

• Knowledge of SQL to be able to write queries (SQL Server)
• Knowledge of C# programming language is a must have 
• English speaking is mandatory
• Experience with Power BI (or similar BI tools) is a plus
• Flexible to work on multiple topics whenever required to support business as close as possible
• Solid knowledge of front, middle and back office processes and functional design on commodity trading – including deal representation (both physical & financial), MTM pricing, logistics, settlement, accounting and controls
• Knowledge of key indicators such as PnL, MtM, … is a plus to assist business in reconciling economical and accounting PnL
• Good ability to translate business requirements into technical solution with good design & supportability
• Prior knowledge of LNG or gas commodity trading is a plus
• Eager to understand and work on business logics particularly related to pricing
• Good communication skills, especially when engaging with different stakeholders
• A team player and ability to work with global teams effectively
• Ability to work under pressure and dealing with constraints
• Strong discipline in documentation
