Sales Engineer

For our client, a global logistics and applied engineering provider, we are looking for a sales engineer with experience within a technical industry. To optimally serve its customers, the organization is decentralized in business units. Each business unit acts independently and offers its clients tailor made solutions. Our client is the process engineering business unit of the group, offering material handling and process engineering solutions to the industry market leaders, in the chemical and food industries all over the world. They design and build turnkey process installations for their customers striving to make a difference in terms of creativity, flexibility and performance. They execute both green- and brownfield projects of different sizes with an average implementation time of one to two years. The company is fast growing company with an international team of more than 170 employees (and counting) with offices in Belgium, Thailand and the US.

Your responsibilities as a Sales Engineer


• As a sales engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing customized process solutions for our industrial customers in the food and chemical industry.
• Your expertise will be focused on engineering and designing cutting-edge process installations and various solutions.
• You will be responsible for selecting top-of-the-line equipment for the process installations you engineer. This involves close collaboration with suppliers and clients.
• Additionally, you will be tasked with calculating and budgeting rates to provide personalized quotations. You will develop and present process solutions based on specific product and capacity information provided by our customers.
• Your technical knowledge and creativity will be instrumental in delivering ingenious solutions to our customers, ensuring their satisfaction.
• Joining our dedicated sales team, specifically focused on one of our industry niches, you will work closely with the key account manager, forming a specialized team of experts.

Your profile:

  • To excel in this role, you should possess a higher technical degree (Master) and preferably have experience in a sales role within a technical industry.
  • A background in process engineering or as an application engineer would be advantageous. Knowledge of the food and/or chemical industry and its customers would also be beneficial.
  • You must be capable of reading and interpreting technical specifications provided by customers.
  • Analytical, creative, and effective communication skills are essential for success in this position, and proficiency in both Dutch and English is required.
  • While you enjoy working independently, you also value being part of a team where you can learn from and motivate each other.
  • Your enthusiasm for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technological advancements, coupled with your broad technical knowledge, will contribute to your effectiveness as a sales engineer.
