Adequacy PMO service junior

Description

The introduction of a mechanism for capacity remuneration (CRM) on the Belgian market is one of the measures within the federal government's energy strategy. This strategy provides for new measures to guarantee the country's security of supply in the long term. 
The capacity remuneration mechanism stipulates that for each delivery year (the year in which the capacity must be available) two auctions will be organized: a first one, four years before the delivery year, and a second, one year prior to the delivery year. Each auction is preceded by the determination of the volume and parameters of the auction and by a pre-qualification period for the participants in the auction. Before participating in an auction, all capacities must be pre-qualified.  The first auction has taken place in October 2021, for the 2025 delivery year and now the next auction is to be prepared for. Meanwhile, different implementations are ongoing to prepare for the next phases of the CRM in upcoming years.

The adequacy program consists of different projects and involves several departments across the company. Overall, about 50 colleagues are on a frequent basis involved in the adequacy program. The program handles a multi-million budget and requires a lot of interactions with many (external) stakeholders, including authorities, regulator, other TSOs and market parties. Such large program requires a good support and follow-up and, hence, needs a strong PMO and the necessary support.

Responsibilities

  • You assist the Program Manager to lead the different adequacy projects of the program according to the scope, governance, budget and planning.  You support the team regarding the logistic and administrative activities. 
  • You assist the Program Manager in setting up and coordinating meetings with internal (middle and senior management) and external stakeholders (market parties).

Skills

  • You have a master degree (engineering, economics or commercial orientation);
  • You understand how the energy sector works;
  • You have excellent analytical skills;
  • You have experience as a project leader or project support (PMO) with an IT dimension;
  • You have excellent writing skills (including the establishment of operational procedures and minutes of meeting) and are able to communicate clearly in English and both national languages; 
  • You enjoy working in a team and are result-oriented; 
  • You have a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Effective start 1/10/2022  (until end of 2022 with a potential prolongation).
