Mission Description

Our client is responsible for operating, developing and maintaining Belgium’s high-voltage grid, making it accessible to users and regulating energy flows. The have a team of 2,000 professionals whose mission is to ensure the continuity of electricity supplies in Belgium and a part of Germany.
As the owner and operator of the transmission grids in Belgium and Germany, they maintain an important role and mission in supporting and concretizing European energy and climate policy.
ACC2.0 (Assets Condition and Control) is an Asset Management program with several initiatives for Remote Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance. These initiatives aim to further increase safety, sustainability, quality and efficiency.
As Project Leader Asset Condition & Control 2.0, you will actively contribute to defining, elaborating and providing support for the implementation of one or more of the innovative ACC2.0 initiatives in the context of digitalization and/or sustainability. 

For 2023, we foresee at least the following projects:

• Smart Climate Control: With the use of OT and IoT, we want to make the existing heating systems in buildings Smart. This means that the old heating systems will have to be connected to a central system for remote control and monitoring. In this way, our client aims to achieve an energy reduction of several GWh per year.
• Obstruction Light Control: Our client needs to monitor, and in some cases even control, the lighting in its high-voltage towers. This will require an Edge device to be implemented on the towers, which will connect the obstruction light system to a central system via IoT.

Your responsibilities and duties as Project Leader Asset Condition & Control 2.0

• You will be responsible for the definition, study, design of the projects and support the implementation until commissioning and administrative closure:
  • Translating the needs initiated from the project into concrete implementation needs.
  • In close consultation with the various teams (Maintenance, Asset Management, IT, Datacom) determining the correct solution.
  • Assisting the design team during their detailed study (preparation of the various plans necessary for construction and management of the plant)
  • Assist a local project manager during the site phase if applicable
  • Reporting budget, scope and ambition tracking
• You work in a multidisciplinary team (no hierarchical line, only functional) and take into account the required and available resources;
• You will report to the Program Manager of the ACC2.0 program;
• Participate in defining the new concepts and determining the framework agreements related to the equipment, in collaboration with the relevant expertise department;
• Participate in or lead the pilot projects (PoC) that allow to validate the new concepts as well as the OT/IoT devices and tools before they will be used on the Belgian network;

Your profile as Project Leader Asset Condition & Control 2.0

• Civil or industrial engineer in electronics-ICT, electro mechanics or energy. 
• Strong sense of responsibility, pronounced organizational skills.
• You are good at keeping an overview of several projects running simultaneously.
• Fluent assertive communicator, who is customer-oriented, values team spirit and is resourceful.
• Tech savvy mindset is a must. 
• Experience with OT/IoT projects is a plus.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus.
• Languages: Good knowledge of NL, FR and EN
• 5-10 years of experience
